WHAT ARE WE UP TO IN THE CLASSROOM?
MATH
In math we will alternate between review days and testing days from now until the end of the year. Because of this, your child will only come home with a Home Link homework if it appropriately supports the lesson we did that day. You can expect homework to really scale back as we approach the end of year.
READERS & WRITERS WORKSHOP
As readers and writers we are jumping back into the world of nonfiction. Using some of our favorite series like Fly Guy Presents as a mentor text we are looking at books that teach us real facts with fictional characters. We are recreating this idea in our own teaching books during writers workshop.
VOLUNTEERS & MYSTERY READERS WELCOME
If you have time over the next few weeks and want to join us in the classroom we'd love to have you. I could definitely use the help of volunteers to help sort, organize, and pack up the classroom for summer. Many of these projects can be done during the day while the kids are busy working.
We also have many summer birthdays in room 3. If your child celebrates their birthday this summer (or they had a birthday during the school year and you weren't able to come in and read) you are welcome to join us as a mystery reader! Just email me and we can coordinate a time and day that works.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT OF YOUR CHILD THIS YEAR! :)
