Welcome to Room 3!
I am thrilled to be the newest addition to the amazing team at the McGovern School. Here is a quick snapshot about me:
While this is my first year teaching in Medway, it is my sixth year teaching elementary school. I graduated from UMass Amherst in 2004 and worked in fundraising for the American Cancer Society and a private school before deciding my skills would best be put to use in a classroom. I went back to college and earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education at Bridgewater State College. I began my education career at the Julia Bancroft School in Auburn, MA teaching 4th grade. When my husband was offered a job with a non-profit organization based in San Diego, CA we jumped on the opportunity to move to California. I began working at Monarch School as their Volunteer and Student Event Coordinator until a teaching position opened up. I taught Monarch's 2nd & 3rd grade students for three incredible years. It was a joy to work at Monarch and live in sunny San Diego, but when my son Calvin was born in February of 2013, my husband and I couldn't wait to return to our home state of Massachusetts. Last year, we settled in Medway and I had a wonderful year teaching 3rd grade in Mendon. We chose to live in Medway because of the schools' excellent reputation, so when an opportunity to join the team at McGovern opened up, I took it.
As the photo suggests, I love to be outside. Our family loves to hike, bike, surf, snowboard, and enjoy the outdoors. We are also very serious about reading, dancing, and enjoying ice cream as much as possible!
I look forward to an incredible year together!
