In reading we continue to use strategies to become the boss of our reading. Here is the toolkit your child has learned in school. Use these strategies to encourage your child at home as they come across more and more tricky words in their reading.
In science, we're wrapping up our plant life cycle experiments. Our class plant, Bulbo unfortunately didn't make it. Here's a photo collage of its life along with an image of what it should have grown into.
Our personal plants continue to grow in the classroom. We're growing beanstalks in cups and each student's plant is in a different stage of growth. We also tried germinating seeds in plastic bags. The seeds in bags had sunlight, water, but no soil so most of them started to turn moldy or rot. However, one student's seed germinated beautifully in the bag and even started to sprout! We talked about how in all science experiments there are exceptions to the rule! It just so happens that the same student whose seed in the bag was the only one not to rot, happens to have a beanstalk that is already 22 inches long! The class got a real kick out of us having our very own Green Thumb in room 3!
